You will open and run a brand-new four-bed home for children with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties. What you will do
Secure Ofsted registration and lead every inspection with confidence.
Recruit, mentor, and motivate a close-knit staff team so every shift runs smoothly.
Write and review individual care plans that capture each child’s needs and ambitions.
Keep records, medication systems, safeguarding practice, and policies fully compliant with Children’s Homes Regulations and Quality Standards.
Build strong links with families, schools, health professionals, and local authorities.
Manage budgets, rotas, and training so the home stays safe and sustainable.
Act as the on-call decision-maker when serious incidents occur.
What you bring
Recent experience running a children’s residential home or working as a Deputy ready for step-up.
Up-to-date knowledge of the Children’s Homes Regulations 2015 and the Ofsted inspection framework.
Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (or a clear plan to finish it soon).
Calm, decisive leadership when situations become challenging.
Clear communication with young people, colleagues, and external partners.
A background in social work, youth work, mental health, or similar care settings is welcome.
